Event Description:

Paranormal Investigation - Furnace Town, Snow Hill

Just 30 minutes from Ocean City - Join our Chesapeake Ghosts storyteller and a team of investigators from Delmarva Spirit Hunters for a 1.5-hour paranormal investigation at Furnace Town in Snow Hill. Furnace Town is a living heritage "outdoor" museum in the Pocomoke Forest. On the grounds, there are a collection of restored historic buildings - a church, a school, a blacksmith shop and the old remains of the iron furnace. These buildings and the grounds are legendary for having paranormal activity, and your group will be able to enter some of the buildings - including the old Church - home of the "Heavy Bible."  You will also be able to investigate around the old iron furnace and go deeper into the forest -- - at night.

The highlight will be walking into the secluded (and haunted) Pocomoke Forest after dark (weather permitting).

Sightings of Sampson Harmon, a free Black man who worked at the iron furnace and lived in the forest with his cats until he was 104 years old have been known to occur. Some people catch a glimpse of his cat. Harmon is one of over a dozen legendary spirits said to haunt the Pocomoke Forest. This forest has a 200 year legacy of being haunted, and it is by far, the most haunted forest in Maryland.

"Ghost meters" that identify electromagnetic energy will be provided for guests to use during the investigation. Guests are invited and encouraged to bring their own ghost hunting equipment.  Group limited to 25.
