But what is the Macky & Pam Stansell House?
Coastal Hospice is building the first-ever hospice home for the Lower Shore. The Macky and Pam Stansell House will open to patients in early 2019.
Help us finish this hospice home that will serve the entire Lower Shore community. You can leave a legacy that will impact your neighbors now and in the future. With your support, we can begin serving patients by the beginning of next year.
The Macky and Pam Stansell House will provide a safe place to call home for Coastal Hospice patients who are unable to manage alone, or who need more help than a frail spouse can provide. The Stansell House will be home to those in our care who need it the most. The residence will provide the dignity of hospice care with the comforts of home.
The Stansell House will offer:
12 individual, private patient rooms
Space for family and loved ones to gather, meet, and dine together
Scenic views of Isle of Wight Bay
Meditation room
Labyrinth meditation garden
Community room
Library stocked with resources for families
Porch and veranda with rocking chairs
Services of the Stansell House
Central hub for the care coordination team serving residents of the Lower Shore including Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties
Residents of the home will be supported by a team of specialized healthcare professionals:
Doctors
Nurses
Social workers
Spiritual counselors
Therapists
Nursing aides
Other services include:
Palliative care
Bereavement counseling
Community education programs
